Scientists Search Columbia River Gorge for Wind Resource Information

According to an article in Scientific American, scientists from the Energy Department and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have been studying the wind resource in the Columbia River Gorge between Washington and Oregon, working to more accurately forecast the strength of the wind. Energy Department meteorologist Joel Cline said the research goal is "a computer model that is versatile and accurate enough to measure potential wind power anywhere in the United States."
