Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Researcher Receives Distinguished Service Award
March 6, 2018
Alice Orrell of the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Pacific Northwest National Laboratory received Windustry’s 2018 Community Wind and Sustainable Energy Distinguished Service Award. The annual award is presented to someone who has made exceptional contributions over several years to distributed wind and locally owned renewable energy. Windustry Executive Director Lisa Daniels praised Orrell’s work on market databases, modeling tools, and analyses that help to track and expand distributed wind’s role in our nation’s energy mix. Orrell’s work as the lead author of DOE’s annual Distributed Wind Market Report was also highlighted. The annual market report helps manufacturers, installers, developers, policy makers, and other industry players better understand the U.S. and global distributed wind markets.
