U.S. Army Program Transitions Soldiers and Veterans to Wind Technician Careers

The U.S. Army reports that the Fort Benning Career Skills Program at Fort Benning, Georgia, launched a new 28-day course called Renewable Energy and Communications Tower Technician Program in partnership with Airstreams Renewables Inc. The program is designed to help transition soldiers and veterans into entry-level positions in communication towers, wind energy, and other alternative energy industries. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, wind turbine service technician is the second-fastest growing occupation in the United States.
