Rhode Island Releases Clean Energy Jobs Report

Sept. 18, 2018

The Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources and the state's Executive Office of Commerce announced the publication of the 2018 Rhode Island Clean Energy Jobs Report. Rhode Island has tripled the state's clean energy resources from 100 to nearly 300 megawatts and, according to the report, clean energy employment has increased by 72% since 2014, adding 6,650 jobs in 5 years. In May, Governor Raimondo announced the selection of Deepwater Wind to construct a 400-megawatt offshore wind farm. The Revolution Wind project, expected to support more than 800 direct construction jobs and 50 permanent jobs, was selected through a competitive offshore wind procurement process in collaboration with Massachusetts.
