Sept. 11, 2018

The U.S. Energy Information Administration published new data and maps demonstrating that wind was the most prevalent renewable electricity generation source in 16 states in 2017. For the United States as a whole, hydroelectricity was the highest renewable electricity generation source in 2017 (providing 7% of the national total), but by 2019, wind generation is expected to surpass hydro. The new maps compare the prevalent renewable electricity generation source in each state in 2007 and 2017.
