Wind for Schools: Supporting Teachers and Students in Distance Learning

Innovative programs⁠—funded through the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Wind Energy Technologies Office Wind for Schools project⁠—are serving as an important resource as parents and educators struggle to find a balance in what has been dubbed the “new normal.”

“Wind for Schools is an initiative from DOE to help ensure that students are introduced to the wind energy industry in a constructive way,” said Ian Baring-Gould, technology deployment manager at NREL.

NREL is supporting distance learning for K-12 students through exciting, hands-on Wind for Schools programs such as KidWind and NEED (National Energy Education Development). Learn more.
