IEA Wind Task 34: Assessing Environmental Effects (WREN) Adaptive Management White Paper

Researchers from member nations published this report, the first in a series of white papers under the International Energy Agency (IEA) Wind Task 34, Working Together to Resolve Environmental Effects of Wind Energy (WREN). This first report explores adaptive management, a systematic process intended to improve policies and practices by learning from the outcome of management decisions and to reduce scientific uncertainty. The report suggests the need for a common understanding, definition, and framework for adaptive management and its application to wind energy.
