Whirlpool Corporation Breaks Ground on Latest Onsite Wind Project in Ohio
Dec. 7, 2016
The Whirpool Corporation announced a new three-turbine project to help power its Marion, Ohio, manufacturing facility that produces almost 4 million clothes dryers per year. Expected to be online in early 2017, the three turbines will provide approximately 19% of the total power consumption of the facility directly to the plant. The Marion plant is one of three facilities in Ohio where Whirlpool is using wind energy to partially power its manufacturing operations. According to a company press release, "This latest wind project is one way that the company continues to strengthen its commitment to American manufacturing in Ohio."
