Maine Wind Farms Contribute Nearly a Quarter of State's Electricity Production in December

The Portland Press Herald reported on data from the federal Energy Information Administration showing that in December 2016, Maine's wind farms accounted for nearly a quarter of the state's total electricity production. According to the American Wind Energy Association, Maine installed 245 megawatts of wind power during the fourth quarter of 2016, which accounted for part of the surge in wind power production. An additional 23 megawatts are under construction in the state.
