Tesla Batteries May Back up Wind Farm off Massachusetts Coast

July 31, 2017

Bloomberg reports that offshore wind developer Deepwater Wind is proposing to pair Tesla Inc. batteries with offshore wind turbines as part of a bid to supply the state of Massachusetts with clean energy generated at sea. The 144-megawatt project would store electricity produced late at night and deliver it when the grid needs it most. Deepwater submitted its bid last week. Massachusetts will award the contracts in December.
