DWEA Members to Send Turnkey Microgrids to Puerto Rico, Other Caribbean Islands Devastated by Hurricane

The Distributed Wind Energy Association (DWEA) reports that its members will send turnkey microgrids to help Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands that lost power as a result of Hurricane Maria. Puerto Rico’s utility reports that some of its customers may be without electricity into 2018. Companies such as Tesla are delivering microgrids, solar panels, and energy storage batteries to provide more immediate relief. Wind industry companies contributing to the effort include Northern Power Systems, Primus Wind Power, XZERES, Oregon, and United Wind.
