U.S. Department of the Interior Proposes Sale for Wind Energy Leases off the Massachusetts Coast

The U.S. Department of the Interior announced a proposed commercial wind energy lease sale for two areas totaling nearly 390,000 acres off the Massachusetts coast. A Proposed Sale Notice for Commercial Leasing for Wind Power on the Outer Continental Shelf Offshore Massachusetts was published in the Federal Register on April 11, 2018, and it includes a 60-day public comment period. This document provides detailed information concerning the area available for leasing, the proposed lease provisions and conditions, auction details, and lease execution. Comments received electronically or postmarked by the end of the public comment period will be made available to the public and considered before the publication of the Final Sale Notice, which will announce the time and date of the lease sale.
