New Jersey Sets Goal of 3,500 Megawatts of Offshore Wind by 2030
May 23, 2018
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy recently signed several legislative initiatives to enable the state’s participation in the offshore wind economy. Renewable Energy Bill A-3723 codifies the Governor’s goal of 3,500 megawatts of offshore wind by 2030 and reinstates an expired program to provide tax credits for offshore wind manufacturing activities. Governor Murphy also signed an executive order directing state agencies to develop an updated energy master plan to enable 100% percent clean energy by 2050. This plan would also facilitate the implementation of an executive order establishing an Offshore Wind Strategic Plan.
