American Wind Wildlife Institute Publishes Analysis of Bat Data

July 10, 2018

The American Wind Wildlife Institute published a technical report that summarizes bat fatality data compiled in the American Wind Wildlife Information Center, a comprehensive U.S. database that incorporates public and confidential data and allows researchers to analyze the data for different species across multiple sites and regions to better understand wind energy’s risks to wildlife and which species are at risk. A results summary document is also available. DOE’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory supported the development of these documents.
