DOE Publishes 100-Meter Southeast Wind Resource Maps

Aug. 4, 2021

The ability to assess and characterize available wind resources is critical to the development, siting, and operation of a wind power plant. The Wind Energy Technologies Office, which supports efforts to accurately define, measure, and forecast the nation’s land-based and offshore wind resources, recently released new wind resource maps for the southeast region of the United States. New land-based maps are available for the North Carolina-South Carolina-Georgia-Florida area, the Louisiana-Mississippi area, the Alabama-Florida area, Texas, and Kentucky.
