The U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Indian Energy highlighted how wind energy is supporting remote villages in Alaska and its wins, such as:
- Emissions avoided: 104,700 gallons of diesel fuel each year = 930 metric tons of greenhouse gas annually (equivalent to removing 207 gasoline-powered cars from the road each year).
- Cost savings: $11.4 million over the 25-year life of the system for the utility and powered communities.
