Technical and Economic Feasibility Study of Utility-Scale Wind at the Doepke-Holliday Superfund Site

Researchers at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) published this study, prepared in partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency for the RE-Powering America's Land Initiative. Citizens of Shawnee, Kansas, as well as city planners and site managers are interested in re-development issues for landfills in Kansas that are particularly well suited for wind turbines. This report assesses the Johnson County Landfill and the Doepke Superfund Site, which is part of the landfill.
